The announcement by Sandals Resorts to revisit its plans for Tobago and potentially establish a resort on the island has sparked renewed optimism and opened the door to increased opportunities for Tobago’s tourism and economic sectors. Global hospitality brand Hilton has announced the signing of the Elephant Tree Resort and Villas Tobago, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, to be established in the village of Roxborough. According to a press release issued by Hilton on Tuesday, the upcoming development will feature 40 guest rooms and 126 fully furnished residences. These will include 88 three-bedroom units and 38 two-bedroom units. The branded residences will offer buyers the option to participate in a rental programme, allowing their units to be included in the resort’s accommodation inventory. Each unit will span up to 1,560 square feet and feature upscale finishes, including quartz countertops, elevated interior décor, and private terraces designed to offer scenic views and a tranquil experience. The development is expected to open in 2028.
